Taguig’s unsung heroes: Cayetano couple commemorate heroism of ‘Tipas 300’
Taguig Reps. Alan and Lani Cayetano recently took time off from their busy schedules to commemorate the heroism of the so-called “Tipas 300.”
The couple laid a wreath on December 2 in Tipas and visited the living veterans who fought during the Japanese occupation.
In a Facebook post, Lani said Taguig owes its freedom today to the 300 men who were abducted by the Japanese who were never found again.
“Kung ano ang Taguig ngayon ay dahil sa sakripisyo ng mga bayani noon. Sa kasalukuyan ay mayroon na lamang tayong labinlimang (15) War Veterans na nabubuhay sa Taguig. Taos puso natin silang kinikilala at pinapasalamatan,” she said.
Lani said it was important to mark the “Tipas 300’s” heroism despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
