Manila Mayor Isko Moreno stressed the importance of loving the country as he led the city government’s commemoration of Andres Bonifacio’s 157th birthday on Monday, November 30.

The commemoration rites were held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan of the Andres Bonifacio Monument where the code of ethics of the Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalang Katipunan (KKK) is placed.

In his speech, Moreno said Manila residents should emulate Bonifacio’s ideals and principles.

Dito natin ipakita ang pagiging makabayan, tayo sa kanya-kanyang field of undertaking, sa kanya-kanyang obligasyon, sumipol tayo, galingan natin,” he said.

Moreno also encouraged the youth to be more active and to be more critical of their government and public social issues, but cautioned against resorting to violence to make their voices heard.
