Isko Moreno announces P100K reward anew for Manila barangays with no COVID-19 cases
The city government of Manila will again give a P100,000 cash reward to barangays with zero new COVID-19 infections for two months, Mayor Isko Moreno said on November 16.
Moreno signed Executive Order No. 45 wherein the local government will provide incentives to barangays with no new infection from December 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021 “as it was proven to be effective.”
“In the next two months, starting December 1, 2020 and ending on January 31, 2021, kapag wala pong nairehistro na infection, walang new case sa barangay ninyo, magkakamit ang inyong barangay ng P100,000 incentive,” Moreno said.
“Barangays which already achieved COVID-free status for the period covering 1 September 2020 to 31 October 2020 shall be given an additional P100,000 or a total incentive of P200,000,” he added.
Under the Executive Order, Moreno said the Manila Health Department (MHD) and the Manila Barangay Bureau (MBB) “shall collaborate in overseeing the implementation” and “shall submit reports to the Office of the Mayor.”
All COVID-19 data will be verified by the MHD to scrutinize which barangays recorded zero COVID-19 infection for two months.
