Abby Binay cares! Makati sends more rescue equipment to Marikina
Makati Mayor Abby Binay is sending more resources to Marikina to help the city recover from the massive flooding caused by Typhoon Ulysses last week.
Binay on Wednesday ordered the deployment of additional rescue equipment to Marikina to help in disaster rehabilitation efforts. Among the vehicles sent by Makati include a tanker, a penetrator fire truck, and a pick-up truck RV-13.
“We understand that our beleaguered neighbor needs all the help it can get to cope with this new crisis. We hope that in our own small way, we can ease the day-to-day lives of the typhoon victims while they are in temporary shelters,” the mayor said.
Binay said a water filtration system and Makati’s mobile kitchen have been sent to Marikina to help evacuees.
Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro earlier placed the city under a state of calamity after Ulysses’ onslaught to fast-track rehabilitation efforts.
