Charisse Abalos runs Facebook survey on planned karaoke ban in Mandaluyong
This Facebook survey may not be formal, but you can say she did it her way.
Mandaluyong Councilor Charisse Abalos-Vargas wanted a quick way to get the people’s pulse on the plan of the city council to ban the use of videoke machines on weekdays, hoping to limit noise pollution and distractions as people work and study at home.
“Pinag-aaralan po ng Komite ng Kapayapaan ay Kaayusan (Peace and Order) ang Draft Ordinance No. 1301 kung saan ipinagbabawal ang videoke/karaoke maliban tuwing araw ng Sabado (mula 6am-10pm) at Linggo (mula 6am-8pm). Click nyo lang po ang ❤️ react kung sang-ayon po kayo o ? react kung di naman po kayo sang-ayon,” the politiko said.
Her many followers pulled through, with her post showing a landslide win in a day. About 5,400 people were supportive of the ban, against 92 who said they weren’t.
