The “stay home” campaign is rendered useless by lack of mobile signal.

Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas felt disappointed and heartbroken for these teen students in Leyte, who live in a remote area not reached by a mobile service provider.

The group of students walk to a neighboring town just so they can go online and attend their virtual classes.

“Distance learning, naging distance walking. Telecoms, please put up more cell sites,” the politiko said.

“Please invest more for the Filipino people. Bayanihan 2 makes it easier to build more cell towers. Students like Jaira need not walk 4kms just to get decent education.”
