Linggo lang pwede! San Juan bans videoke sessions 6 days a week
The San Juan City Council has approved an ordinance banning videoke and karaoke sessions six days a week to give students a more conducive environment for online classes.
Under the City Ordinance No. 78, the use of videoke and karaoke systems and other amplified audio/video devices, engaging in noisy activities, and playing loud music in jeepneys and private vehicles are banned from Mondays to Saturdays or when online classes are in session.
Residents are only allowed to use them from 6 PM to 9 PM, Mondays to Saturdays; and Sundays from 9 AM to 9PM starting October 14, 2020.
“We ask our constituents to cooperate and help out our students in whatever way they can. This is another way of making sure those studying at home will have conducive studying environment,” said San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
First time violators will be slapped with a fine of P3,000 and subsequent offenses will be fined with P5,000 or imprisonment of not more than three (3) months or both at the discretion of the court.
