10 GB data monthly: Globe to supply SIM cards for QC students’ tablets
Globe Telecoms has bagged the contract to supply SIM cards with a monthly data allocation for the tablets to be used by students in Quezon City’s public junior and senior high schools.
The telco will be providing 176,000 data SIM cards with a 10 GB data allowance monthly. This will complement the 176,000 Samsung tablets that have been turned over to the Schools Division Office (SDO).
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the SIM cards will allow students access to modules and other learning materials under the blended system of learning.
“As part of Quezon City’s learning continuity programs, it is crucial for us to ensure that all students have access to education, most importantly during this period of disruption,” she said.
Globe has added security features to prevent access to certain content and gaming websites, ensuring that the tablets will be used only for learning.
