‘Di dapat tipirin! Stella Quimbo wants additional P1B for DOH’s mental health program
Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo has urged Congress to add P1 billion to the Department of Health’s (DOH) budget for 2021 for the implementation of its National Mental Health Program.
Quimbo filed House Resolution 1225 along with Quezon City Rep. Bong Suntay seeking an increase in DOH’s 2021 funding.
It was revealed during the DOH budget hearing before the House appropriations committee that the mental health budget for next year is a meager P615 million or about P5.69 per Filipino.
At least 134 lawmakers have expressed their intent to be co-authors of HR 1225.
