Stella Quimbo wants extra P1B budget for mental health
It’s an unseen but damaging enemy apart from COVID-19.
Marikina Congresswoman Stella Quimbo wants the 2021 budget to be more responsive to mental health issues, which was on the rise as the pandemic likely threw more people into unstable conditions.
The politiko pointed out that only P615 million out of the record P4.5 trillion budget is allotted for mental health response, or barely P6 per Filipino.
We need an additional ₱1B to #FundMHLaw,” she said.
The proposed 2021 budget for Mental Health is ₱615 M, equivalent to ₱5.69 per Filipino.
