Gus Tambunting recalls fond memories of ex-Comelec chair Brillantes

He was a wise public servant and constituent.

Former Parañaque Rep. Gus Tambunting was saddened to hear of former Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes, Jr.’s passing because of COVID-19, which is deemed a huge loss to the Pinoy voters and politikos. More than that, he had fond bonding sessions with the 80-year-old man.

“I will miss seeing Atty. Sixto walking around for exercise here in BF Homes, Parañaque. I will remember with fondness our chat over coffee at the McDonald’s along President’s Avenue and our celebration of your birthdays,” Tambunting said.

“Hinahangaan at kilala natin si Atty. Sixto Brillantes bilang isang magaling na abugado at COMELEC Chairman. He left us a great legacy. As we salute his excellence in the legal profession and in government service, we also remember his simplicity in spirit and kindness of heart,” he added.
