Charisse Abalos followed the fate of her grandparents and got infected with coronavirus.

The Mandaluyong councilor had to face the dreaded truth that she contracted COVID-19, days after seeing her lolo Ben Abalos and lola Cora infected. She herself felt some symptoms and got herself checked.

“I’m sad to say that I tested positive for COVID-19. Okay naman ang pakiramdam ko. Last week, ako ay na-stress, napuyat, nalungkot sa dinaranas ni Lolo Ben and Mama Cora. Hanggang sa nagising akong parang may bara sa ilong pero walang sipon. I couldn’t smell anything and I couldn’t taste anything. That was my red flag,” the politiko said, sharing her journey.

“For now I can only hope and pray that no other symptoms appear. And that I didn’t infect my babies (they will be swabbed tomorrow),” she added, saying her husband has been taking care of the kids and looking after her while she’s isolated.
