Rex lectures funeral parlors about holding wakes

Funerals are a potential mass gathering magnet.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian personally met with funeral parlors in Valenzuela to warn them against allowing bereaved families to mount long and dragging wakes for their relatives who died of other causes apart from COVID-19. While it’s allowed for them to hold a ceremony and viewing of the bodies, it shouldn’t go on for too long as well.

“Today met with all our funeral homes operators to emphasize that none covid related wakes should be kept only for a couple of days and limited to immediate family only,” the politiko said. “Now is not the time to relax and let covid get the better of us.”
