Stella Quimbo says commuters pay extra P50/day due with limited transpo

This is a hefty price to pay for commuting under quarantine.

Life may seem easier now that public commuting options are back on the road, but it now comes at a heavy cost, Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo said.

Using inflation figures that tricycle fares are up by a whopping 26% in June, the seasoned economist said it meant a big expense for already struggling workers.

That’s easily an extra P250 per week –– something so crucial that can buy a kilo or more of meat and vegetables for the table.
