Kit Belmonte joins call to release Cebu 7
The Anti-Terrorism Bill may not be a law yet, but it’s already giving a glimpse of how undeservedly powerful policemen will get.
Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte joined mounting calls on Twitter for the release of seven students and protesters who were captured by cops in the University of the Philippines Cebu last week, where they mounted a Black Friday Protest with proper social distancing.
The politiko used his online might to lobby for their release, as they are now known as the “Cebu 7.”
“Adding terror to terror,” Belmonte said, adding the hashtags #JunkTerrorBilllNow #JunkTerrorBill and #ReleaseCebu7.
