Damay damay na! QC barangay shuts down as 30 employees test positive for COVID-19
Barangay South Triangle in Quezon City has shut its operations for three days after 30 of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.
“Barangay South Triangle will be suspending its operations for three (3) days starting June 5, 2020 (Friday), after 30 of its employees tested positive [in the] COVID-19 IgG Rapid test,” the barangay said in a Facebook post.
The barangay said its COVID-19-positive employees are already quarantined but would still have to go through confirmatory PCR tests.
The rapid test detects antibodies produced by the body in fighting COVID-19. It has limited accuracy. The PCR test, meanwhile, is considered the “gold standard” in COVID-19 tests.
Based on the latest data from the local government, 2,294 individuals have tested for positive for COVID-19 in Quezon City.
