Ruffy Biazon points out DOH’s great sin in COVID fight

The Philippines could have stopped the coronavirus for coming onshore but didn’t.

Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon is still not over the fact that the Department of Health has been slow to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic then until now. It’s been months, but the politiko still can’t shake the utter neglect of the agency in fending off the virus to the local scene.

“I remember the hearing we had in Congress Feb 5. I asked if DOH raised its alert level for infectious diseases. We were told no, in spite of the positive Chinese traveler, because there was no local transmission. We took it for granted,” Biazon said in a tweet.

It’s a sin he is never forgetting, as that move proved costly to the economy and to lives of Filipinos.
