Ayaw gumastos ni Joy Belmonte! QC requires businessmen to pay for employees’ COVID-19 test
Business establishments in Quezon City with 10 or more employees will be required to shoulder the cost of testing their workers for COVID-19, according to a memorandum signed by Mayor Joy Belmonte.
The city government crafted the memorandum to formalize the guidelines for the implementation of the modified enhanced community quaratine (MECQ) in Quezon City. Some restrictions have been eased and a number of businesses are allowed to reopen under MECQ.
Under the guidelines, business owners should submit their COVID-19 testing plan within the first week of resuming their operations.
“Establishments are strongly encouraged to test all employees, provided that at the minimum, persons exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms should be tested,” the memorandum read.
Meanwhile, the city government will shoulder the cost of COVID-19 testing for businesses with less than 10 employees at community-based testing centers.
All business establishments allowed to reopen under MECQ should observe social distancing and require their employees and customers to wear face masks.
