Kailangan rin ng tulong! Kit Belmonte urges DOH: Donate PPEs todialysis centers, stand alone clinics

Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte has called on the Department of Health to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to dialysis centers and other stand-alone health and medical facilities to spare patients the expense of shouldering them.

Belmonte filed a resolution formalizing his appeal to the DOH for more protective gear for dialysisi centers, saying patients do not have to be burdened with an additional expense amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified strict protection, sanitation, and disinfection protocols in health facilities. Stand-alone health facilities, such as dialysis centers, incur higher costs at scale to implement stricter protocols.

Personal Protective Equipment, which is shouldered by the patient, can cost at least 700 pesos.

“Our people, specially the immunocompromised, need more relief during this time. Mas kailangan nila ng kalinga dahil sila ay natatakot at mas mataas ang risk sa COVID-19”, Belmonte added.
