Pang ilan na ‘yan? Jinggoy Estrada arrested while conducting relief efforts in San Juan
Former senator Jinggoy Estrada was arrested in San Juan City Sunday, May 3, for allegedly violating enhanced community quarantine guidelines while conducting relief efforts.
San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora claimed Estrada has been going around the city without permission in the past few days. The former senator’s relief efforts were also drawing crowds, which violate rules on physical distancing, he added.
“Nag-iikot, parating maraming tao, walang social distancing,” Zamora said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol.”
Zamora said Estrada should’ve coordinated his relief efforts with the local government first, in accordance with the guidelines from the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Estrada’s daughter, former San Juan Vice Mayor Janella Estrada, earlier claimed Zamora ordered the closure of her rolling store because it was offering basic goods at cheaper prices to residents.
