Ayuda dahil ‘di makapasada: Pasay jeep drivers get P2,000 from Emi Calixto-Rubiano
Over 800 drivers received P2,000 each from Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano to help them provide for their families amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
The distribution of cash aid took place on April 18 at the Pasay City West High School. It was led by officials from the Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) and Tricycle and Pedicab Franchising and Regulatory Office (TPFRO) of the Pasay City Hall.
In a statement, the Pasay City Public Information Office said Calixto-Rubiano has also set aside funds to provide cash assistance to pedicab and tricycle drivers affected by the quarantine.
Public transport has been suspended since mid-March due to the enhanced community quarantine, which was imposed to slow down the number in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The mayor has assured that the city government is constantly looking for ways to help vulnerable sectors amid the COVID-19 crisis.
