Filinvest Tent, ULTRA to be converted into COVID-19 quarantine centers
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the conversion of Filinvest Tent in Muntinlupa City and Philsports Arena or ULTRA in Pasig City as quarantine facilities for patients of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The technical plans for both ULTRA and Filinvest Tent were approved by hospital design specialist Architect Dan Lichauco.
The Filinvest Tent will have 108 beds while ULTRA can accommodate 156 patients.
The construction of the cubicles may be conducted offsite by workers as social distancing measure with assembling of the cubicles and finishing works to be performed in the actual site.
“With public-private partnership, the government hope to further convert more facilities to address hospital congestion, and ensure efficient treatment of patients battling COVID-19 virus,” said DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.
