Toby Tiangco orders home delivery of senior citizens’ medicines

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco has launched a house-to-house delivery program of senior citizens’ medicines so they don’t have to go to pharmacies amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.

Dubbed “Maintenance Mo, Deliver Ko,” barangay health workers will visit senior citizens in their homes to deliver maintenance medicines.

“We want our elderly to stay home and not risk going out to get their maintenance. Experts say they are vulnerable to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 that is why it is important to keep them safe and healthy,” Tiangco said.

According to the Navotas City Health Office, the city has around 5,000 senior citizens who suffer from hypertension and diabetes.

Beneficiaries will be given one month’s worth of medicines such as losartan, simvastatin, metformin and amlodipine.

As of Thursday, April 9, Navotas has 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 66 persons under investigation and 120 persons under monitoring.
