Walang mayaman, mahirap! Oca Malapitan to give P1,000 to all Caloocan families
Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan will give P1,000 to each family in the city– regardless of economic status– to help them cope with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.
In a statement Tuesday (April 7), Malapitan said the city government has set aside P500 million to provide financial aid to residents amid the outbreak. He said the money is different from the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Malapitan said the city government will base the list of beneficiaries for the P1,000 cash assistance on the household data provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
“Walang pipiliin basta lahat ng household ay makakatanggap ng tulong pinansyal buhat sa inyong lokal na pamahalaan,” he said.
The DSWD’s SAP initiative provides for cash assistance between P5,000 up to P8,000 for families badly hit by the COVID-19 crisis.
