‘Di na pupunta sa botika! Abby Binay orders medicines delivered to Makati residents’ homes
Residents of Makati City no longer have to line up at drugstores for their medicines as Mayor Abby Binay has ordered the delivery of these items to their doorsteps.
Binay said the initiative is aimed at discouraging residents from leaving their homes amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Residents who were given prescription following check-ups only need to give the document to city hall personnel at health centers. They will be the ones to purchase the medicine and deliver them.
Meanwhile, senior citizens who receive maintenance medicines from the city government will have three months’ worth of medicines delivered to them by city hall personnel.
Binay earlier ordered the distribution of food packs and financial assistance to tricycle and jeepney drivers, as well as solo parents and students in light of the enhanced community quarantine.
