‘Di na mapapalayo! Toby Tiangco converts training center into shelter for health workers
Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has has repurposed a training facility as temporary shelter for doctors, nurses and staff of the Navotas City Hospital amid the absence of public transportation due to the enhanced community quarantine.
The room allotted for doctors at the NAVOTAAS Institute Annex II at Brgy. Daanghari has five queen-sized beds, while the quarters for nurses and hospital administrative staff are set-up with spa beds and inflatable beds.
“We are grateful for the sacrifices of our health workers. They are putting their lives at stake as they continue to serve Navoteños and keep up the fight against the Corona Virus Disease 2019. We hope to ease their burden by providing them an accessible and comfortable place to rest and regain their strength,” Tiangco said.
As of March 29, Navotas has 119 persons under monitoring (PUMs) and 26 persons under investigation (PUIs) who are under quarantine or admitted at the Navotas City Hospital.
Of five PUI deaths, one came out positive, one negative and three are awaiting test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine
