Buwis niyo, balik sa inyo! Rex Gatchalian rejects credit for Valenzuela food voucher system
Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian doesn’t want to take credit for implementing food voucher system in the city amid the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a tweet posted Tuesday, March 24, Gatchalian said the system was a result of the taxes paid by people to the government.
“..sa mga nakakuha na ng food vouchers nila. Please don’t thank me. Thank yourselves for paying taxes…pera niyo yan,” he said.
The food vouchers entitle each household in Valenzuela to food packs good for one week. Each stub contains details of when the food packs can be claimed to avoid crowding at redemption centers.
Each food pack contains canned goods, instant noodles, rice, a can of fruit cocktail and sugar.
