Francisco Datol urges DOH: Deliver vitamins to senior citizensamid COVID-19 outbreak
Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. is calling on the Department of Health (DOH) to deliver vitamins for free to senior citizens to boost their immune system amid a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
Datol said he broached the idea of delivering multivitamins to senior citizens to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III during a recent hearing of the House of Representatives on the government’s preparedness in handling COVID-19 cases. He said Duque was open to the idea.
“Hiling kong magkatotoo ito sa lalong madaling panahon,” Datol said.
The lawmaker urged senior citizens with pre-existing medical conditions to undergo self-quarantine to reduce their risk of catching COVID-19.
“Seniors, please inform your barangay chairperson of where you are and your situation. Please monitor your health closely. The moment you start to have symptoms of COVID-19, please call your barangay so you can be transported properly and safely to the hospital,” Datol said.
