Handa tayo! Lino Cayetano assures protocols in place after BGC employee tests positive for coronavirus
Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano assured Saturday, March 7, that the local government has all the necessary protocols in place after an employee working at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a statement, Cayetano confirmed that one of the three new COVID-19 cases announced by the Department of Health (DOH) this week was an employee of Deloitte Philippines, whose office is at Net Lima Plaza.
The mayor said the patient is currently receiving treatment and is in a stable condition.
“Our CEDSU (City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit) led by Dr. Luis M. Sy Jr. has been conducting preventive measures and has put necessary protocols in place. Since January of this year, we have reached out to the BGC community and all barangays in the city and have informed them of our reporting and monitoring procedures, the availability of 2 dedicated ambulance teams, a vigilant service hotline and the strict implementation of the Executive Order to guide the public on guidelines for holding mass gatherings within the city,” Cayetano said.
He expressed confidence that the city government will be able to monitor all persons under investigation for possible COVID-19 infection in coordination with the DOH.
Cayetano advised the public who exhibits flu-like symptoms to get in touch with health authorities for treatment.
