Ruffy Biazon alarmed as PAL lays off workers


Ruffy Biazon was shocked and alarmed to hear about layoffs at Philippine Airlines.

The Muntinlupa congressman could not believe that a business as big as the flag carrier could succumb to huge losses amid the novel coronavirus, as it was apparently already reeling from a year of losses in 2019.

“Whoa… this is serious,” the politiko said.

The airline of bilyonaryo Lucio Tan announced the layoff of 300 administrative and management staff in February, if only to cut costs and reduce losses as more flights to COVID-19 affected nations are announced.
