She is the reason for Alfred Vargas’ fervent passion for cancer care.

The actor now Quezon City congressman got a little nostalgic on February 4, World Cancer Day. He also explained why he was so thrilled to learn that his bill providing a public health strategy to combat the big C has become a law.

“After I lost my mom to cancer, I vowed to help raise awareness, encourage prevention, and fight for better treatment services for all. This is why we pushed for the National Integrated Cancer Care Act. For you mom, & for all the affected families out there,” the politiko said.
