Green pa more! Rex Gatchalian inaugurates rehabilitated Polo Park
Residents of Valenzuela City will now have a new green space to relax in with the opening of the rehabilitated Polo Park.
Mayor Rex Gatchalian led the local officials who inaugurated the park on January 21.
Adorned with trees and a fountain, the park also features a statue of local hero Dr. Pio Valenzuela and Dr. Jose Rizal made by esteemed artist, Ms. Julie Lluch.
The park’s rehabilitation, which took six months, was funded by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) through the “Green, Green, Green” program.
Gatchalian has said that Polo Park is just one of the parks that his administration plans to rehabilitate and beautify in the coming years. Among the ongoing conservation projects of the local government are the restoration of Arkong Bato, Dr. Pio Valenzuela’s residence and the Church of San Diego de Alcala’s 400-year old belfry.
