Wala munang day off! Navotas processes business permit renewal on Sunday
Employees of Navotas city hall’s frontline offices have foregone their day off on Sunday, January 19, to serve taxpayers who wish to apply for renewal of their business permit.
The city’s Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) opened this weekend to accommodate businessmen who could not pay their dues on weekdays. The payment for business permit renewal has also been extended until 12 midnight of January 20.
“Our Business One-Stop Shop will accommodate taxpayers until 12 midnight tomorrow. I encourage them to ensure that they pay their taxes on time to avoid unnecessary penalties,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
Tiangco also reminded taxpayers to make sure that their documentary requirements are complete and ready for submission to save time and effort.
Business taxpayers must submit an accomplished application form, notarized affidavit of waiver and undertaking, latest Department of Trade and Industry registration for sole proprietorship or amended Securities and Exchange Commission registration for partnership, original barangay business clearance, and locational clearance.
Also required for submission are proof of ownership, if the place of business is owned by the applicant or latest lease contract and proof of ownership of the lessor, if the the place of business is rented by the applicant; audited financial statement; latest Annual Income Tax Return duly received by the Bureau of Internal Revenue; and Monthly/Quarterly Returns.
Failure to pay on the due date will subject the taxpayer to a 25% penalty and an additional 2% surcharge for every month thereafter.
