Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon emerged a brave man during Taal’s 1965 eruption, and his son has receipts to prove it.

The former senator and military man had been a hero of Taal Volcano, bravely leading his troop as they set foot in Volcano Island after its deadly eruption decades ago.

“After the eruption of Taal volcano in 1965, my father, then 1Lt. Rodolfo Biazon, was deployed to Taal with the mission to recover bodies of residents buried in the ash and to enforce a lockdown of the island to prevent people from coming back after the eruption,” his son Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon said.

The older Biazon posed in front of the white and puffy smoke coming out of the volcano.
