On Isko Moreno’s request: Nat’l Museum to light up buildings

Heeding Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s request, the National Museum of the Philippines has committed to consistently light the facades of its four buildings at night.

National Museum Director General Jeremy Barns said in a letter to Moreno that he has already issued an order to “immediately implement” the mayor’s request.

“The National Museum is indeed one with the City Government in doing all that we can to promote our country’s capital city, and we are proud to be your literal neighbor in this effort,” Barns said.

In his request, the Mayor asked Barns to light up the facades of National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology, National Museum of National History, and National Planetarium from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. every night.

“We will now commit to establishing a system where this will be facilitated as ‘automatically’ as possible between the stated times,” Barns added.
