Lino Cayetano pays tribute to mom: Everyday is Teacher’s Day at home
Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano has praised his mother, Sandra, for being his first teacher on the celebration of World Teacher’s Day.
In a Facebook post, Cayetano said everyday was Teacher’s Day in their household because of the women in their family.
“Ang lola ko ay guro, ang nanay ko ay guro,” he said.
Cayetano also shared the post of his sister, Senator Pia Cayetano, paying tribute to their mother.
“She was not just my mom. She was also my first teacher and a mentor to thousands of Filipinos. After graduating from University of Michigan, she left the only home she knew to be with my Dad and raise a family here,” Pia said.
The senator shared that their mother founded the Ann Arbor Montessori, which she called “the first truly Montessori school in the Philippines.”
Pia said that while her mother no longer teaches, “she recreated a Montessori classroom in her house so she could teach her grandchildren.
