Sweet visit! Rex Gatchalian gets free pastries from Valenzuela’s budding entrepreneurs
Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian had first dibs on the sweet treats that residents and visitors to the city will soon enjoy after he was visited by at least two budding entrepreneurs this week.
On Thursday, Sunday Grams Cakes and Pastries owner Manny Bardon dropped by Gatchalian’s office to let the mayor sample treats from his latest business venture, Society Barber Café.
Gatchalian shared on social media photos of his meeting with Bardon and the boxes of cakes and pastries that the businessman gave to him.
Society Barber Café, which is located at the GMP building in Paso de Blas, opened Friday.
A day after Bardon’s visit, Gatchalian was visited by Gladys Castro, who sells various kinds of pastries.
In a Facebook post, the mayor remarked how difficult it is for him to lose weight because he’s often gifted with sweets.
“Another home chef turned entrepreneur, Gladys Castro of Dalandanan came to bring in the baked specialities…pano na ako papayat neto. Super sarap…banana bread, cheese cakes, crinkles…,” he said.
With culinary talent overflowing in Valenzuela, it’s difficult for Gatchalian not to take a bite of what the homegrown chefs of the city have to offer!
