Charisse Abalos shares back story of Mandaluyong’s name
The city had a rich history about fighting invaders.
Councilor Charisse Abalos-Vargas felt thrilled upon seeing this beautiful work of art showcasing Mandaluyong’s supposed history right along EDSA.
The politiko revealed how the city’s name was derived from native lovers “Manda” and “Luyong,” who now meet in modern-day Metro Manila as portraits along Show Boulevard.
“Legend says that Mandaluyong was founded between the love of two persons that faught against invaders,” Abalos said.
