Safety is priority: Abby Binay orders over 1K CCTV cameras installed in schools

Makati Mayor Abby Binay has ordered the installation of 1,176 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras in 27 public schools in the city to ensure students’ safety.

Binay said the CCTV cameras were installed in select locations in schools so authorities can monitor movements of everyone on campus.

Department of Engineering and Public Works chief Lauro Reyes said 967 dome and 214 CCTV cameras have been installed in public schools in Makati City so far.

The schools where CCTV cameras are located are the following: In District 1, Bangkal High School Annex; Bangkal Main Elem. School; F. Benitez 3 Elem. School; F. Benitez Main Elem. School; Jose Magsaysay Elem. School; La Paz Elem. School; Makati Elem. School.

Maximo Estrella Elem. School; Nicanor Garcia Elem. School; Palanan Elem. School; Gen. Pio del Pilar I Elem. School; Gen. Pio del Pilar Main; and San Antonio Elementary School.

In District 2, the schools with CCTV cameras are: Cembo Elem. School; Comembo Elem. School; East Rembo Elem. School; Fort Bonifacio Elem. School; Guadalupe Viejo Elem. School; Makati Science High School; Nemesio Yabut Elem. School;

Pembo Elem. School; Pitogo Elem. School; Rizal Elem. School; San Jose Elem. School; South Cembo Elem. School; Tibagan Elem. School; West Rembo Elem. School; and the Department of Education’s Makati Division Office.
