Hashtag #walangmayor trends on Twitter as students blast Isko Moreno for late class suspension
Manila mayor Isko Moreno wasn’t spared from criticism online even if he’s abroad for an official trip.
The hashtag #walangmayor trended on Twitter Tuesday as students, particularly those in college, called out Moreno for belatedly suspending classes in Manila.
The city government’s first announcement for the suspension of classes, made past 6 a.m., only covered students in elementary and high school.
It was only at 9 a.m. that acting mayor Honey Lacuna ordered the suspension of classes in all levels since moderate rains were expected due to Tropical Storm Jenny.
“You know Yorme Isko isn’t doing good when students studying in Manila made a hashtag about him trending nationwide,” said netizen @cyblldwn.
