It pays to be smart! Vico Sotto gives cash incentives to ‘laude’ graduates
College students in Pasig have a new reason to study hard: a five-figure cash incentive courtesy of Mayor Vico Sotto.
The mayor on Wednesday distributed cash incentives to the 110 city scholars who graduated with Latin honors.
Those who graduated summa cum laude received P30,000; magna cum laude, P25,000; and cum laude, P20,000.
In a Facebook post, Sotto said he is hoping that the cash incentive will motivate the next batches of students to study harder.
He also assured parents and students that changes are coming to the city government’s scholarship program.
“For the next batches of scholars & parents, we have been listening to the feedback and we are making some big changes to expand the scholarship, but also to reduce unnecessary costs for the students,” Sotto said.
