Busy weekend: Joy Belmonte checks out Commonwealth markets, terminals
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte shows no signs of slowing down at work even on weekends.
Belmonte on Saturday led members of the QC Task Force 60 Days in doing the rounds of inspections to check on the progress and concerns of public and private markets as well as national roads in the city.
The task force visited markets in Tandang Sora, Litex-Commonwealth and Batasan Hills.
Belmonte and the task force members also inspected the Litex jeepney terminal in Barangay Commonwealth to see what measures can be done to make the facility commuter-friendly.
They also visited nearby vacant lots since the city government is eyeing them as sites for new public markets.
Belmonte created QC Task Force 60 Days in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive for local politikos to reclaim roads for the public.
