Don’t think that the goal is to follow Neil Armstrong to the moon 50 years later.

Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon has spoken up amid criticisms about the supposedly misplaced passage of the Philippine Space Agency Act. While the intent is good and high-reaching, some question if it’s what the country needs especially as it will eat up a lot of funds.

Now that the measure has been signed into law, Biazon clarified what it all means.

“Before you scoff at the law creating the PH Space Agency, know that we do not choose to go to the moon, not because it is easy or hard, but because our only objective is to set the framework for the use of space technology (satellites) in various applications,” Biazon said in a tweet.
