Tepok ang lamok! Monique Lagdameo leads Makati-wide clean up drive vs. dengue

The city government of Makati has launched a city-wide clean up drive amid the nationwide dengue outbreak.

Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo led barangay officials in taking their oath Saturday to maintain the cleanliness of their communities to avoid the spread of dengue.

Officials of the Makati Health Department (MHD) and barangay health workers also demonstrated the use of OL (ovicidal/larvicidal) Traps to Makatizens and the 4S strategy to determine the presence of mosquito vectors and to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs on stagnant water.

MHD chief Dr. Bernard Sese, Dr. Roy Unson, and Dr. Rommel Imbuido also attended the event.

As part of the activity, the barangay officials were given pamphlets containing information on dengue-carrying mosquitoes and tips on how to keep surroundings clean.
