The painting was completed at the newly-cleared shrine turned public park in front of the city hall.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno got a wonderful surprise when he was presented a beautiful painting inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s style.

Artist Ralph Rivera Pangilinan found renewed inspiration to work after the Kartilya ng Katipunan shrine in the city was cleared by the mayor, so he dedicated this painting to him.

Taking off from “The Starry Night,” the dark structure was replaced by the city hall’s clock tower.

“Dahil po sa kalinisan na dulot ng sipag at tiyaga ng ating city hall employees, naisipan niya pong mag-painting sa ating mas pinagandang Kartilya ng Katipunan last July 28, mula 11:00 am hanggang 5:00 pm haha galing!!!,” Moreno said.
