Tom Villarin says Locsin doing everything to ‘appease China’

He’s expecting visa-free travel to Chinese visitors after Secretary Teddy Locsin canceled Philippine diplomatic passports.

Akbayan Party-list Rep. Tom Villarin called Locsin short of being a traitor following how he handled the case of ex-Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, who was denied entry from Hong Kong despite presenting a diplomatic passport.

The former diplomat believes he was barred from Hong Kong because he filed a case of crimes against humanity against Chinese President Xi Jinping, who apparently still had a strong hold over the special administrative region.

In response, Locsin said all diplomatic passports will be deemed canceled as they address the current legal issues around this. For Villarin, it was yet another act of cowering to China’s demands.

“After canceling courtesy diplomatic passports to appease China, what’s next? Locsin giving visa-free travel to Chinese citizens and a red carpet VIP welcome treatment for them,” a fuming Villarin said on Twitter.

“What Locsin like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, is Peking’s duck!”
