Isang linggong ligaya: Makati lines up fun activities for 349th Foundation day celebration
The local government of Makati has organized fun activities for residents of all ages fo enjoy in celebration of the city’s 349th Foundation Day.
The celebration will last from June 17 to 22, said Mayor Abby Binay. She urged all residents to participate to have a deeper understanding of the city’s heritage.
On June 17, the festivities will kick off with a breakfast for all city hall employees. This will be followed by a “Senior’s Night” on June 18 for senior citizens at Barangay Bel-Air’s covered court.
The city government will deploy buses to bring senior Makati residents to and from the venue.
On June 19, a “GLAM Ball” for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community will be held at Barangay Bel-Air’s covered court.
From June 20 to 21, homegrown artists will have a chance to showcase their artwork at the “Creative Fair” to be held at the Museo ng Makati. There will also be an inter-barangay “Makati Art Kombat” for creative residents.
Also on June 21, the new Miss Makati will be crowned at the Makati Coliseum.
The week-long celebration will end on June 22 with a grand parade at Lawton Avenue starting 4 p.m.
