Ruffy Biazon ‘disturbed’ about principal who says faculty rooms for teachers not required
He’s taking the side of the teacher on this one.
Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon is shocked about the recent issue from the Bacoor National High School, where a teacher named Maricel Herrera exposed that some of then chose to convert comfort rooms into a makeshift faculty room this new school year.
Instead of extending help, the principal of the Cavite public school threatened lawsuits like destruction of government property and cyberlibel for supposedly tainting the image of the Department of Education. The principal also dismissed Herrera, saying a teacher’s actual job is to teach rather than to chill out at the faculty room.
Biazon is disappointed.
“I am disturbed at the statement ‘Hindi mandated ng DEPED ang faculty room.’ It should be,” Biazon said.
He has promised to step in to save the situation.
“If it’s not, I’ll be filing legislation as soon as 18th Congress opens to make it mandatory,” he added.
