Vico Sotto’s win is 12 years in the making for anti-Eusebios

They were waiting for this millennial politiko all along.

Councilor Vico Sotto was finally proclaimed as mayor-elect of Pasig City, unseating the Eusebios who have ruled the land for over a decade now.

Sotto, 29, has become the face of change in the city, winning over incumbent Mayor Bobby Eusebio by a wide margin.

The young one had ranted about why his proclamation was taking so long, as he had been on standby for 12 hours and was only officially declared Tuesday afternoon. But an avid supporter pointed out it was nothing compared to how long they’ve been waiting.

“After over 12 hours of waiting at City Hall, Roman & i have been proclaimed congressman & mayor elect. ‘6 mos mula nung nag-file ka,’ a man approached me, ‘pero para sa’min 12 years in the making ‘to,’” Sotto recalled.

“I am blessed to be the face of this fight, but this goes beyond any of us,” he added.
