The Metro Manila Development Authority has lifted the number coding scheme for all public utility vehicles on Tuesday (April 23).

In a Facebook post, the MMDA said the suspension of the number coding scheme is aimed at helping commuters affected by the temporary halt in the operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT).

The two railway lines, as well as the Philippine National Railways, suspended their operations following the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Monday (April 22).

The Department of Transportation has announced that the operations of LRT-2 and MRT-3 will resume Tuesday morning after inspections showed no significant damage to their structures.
